Azerpost LLC issued a stamp on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Embassy of the United Mexican States in the Republic of Azerbaijan.

An event was held to mark the 10th anniversary of the Embassy of the United Mexican States in the Republic of Azerbaijan. As part of the event, a postage stamp issued jointly with Azerpost LLC on the occasion of the anniversary was presented.

Ambassador of Mexico to Azerbaijan Maria Victoria Romero Caballero noted that the opening of the embassy in Baku is of great importance in terms of developing bilateral relations.

Speaking at the event, Isi Mustafayev, Acting Chairman of the Board of Directors of Azerpost, noted that after the restoration of the independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan on October 18, 1991, Mexico became the first country in Latin America to recognize its independence in a short period of time: “As a result of the political respect shown across the ocean to this side, today the relations between these two states continue to be of a friendly nature, and this goodwill continues in the form of organizations such as ours.”

The national and cultural values of both nations were jointly presented in the stamps, which were “turned off” by Ms. Victoria Romero and Mr. Isi Mustafayev; thus, the stamp depicts two important elements of Mexican and Azerbaijani cuisine - tacos and qutab, and in the background are traditional patterns of the two countries.
