Azerpost became the first postal organization in the region to issue stamps from recycled materials
The country’s national postal operator has taken an important step in the field of sustainable development. Thus, Azerpost is the first organization in the region to start issuing postage stamps from recycled materials. This innovation is aimed at reducing the impact of postal services on the environment and promoting environmentally friendly solutions in the field of general services.
The first stamp issued is dedicated to the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change held in Azerbaijan. Considering the importance of the event for our country, Azerpost LLC ensured that the issued stamps fully comply with the concept and requirements of the COP29 event. The main idea of this completely innovative publication is that the stamps are printed on basis of 100% recycled materials.
The stamps were printed in the printing house Bundesdruckerei GmbH, located in Berlin, Germany, in a print run of 10,000 copies. It should be noted that the paper recycling alone took 2.5 months. This shows that Azerpost is committed to the idea of the COP29 event, showing solidarity for the sake of a green world.
It should be noted that the initiative to use recycled materials not only helps reduce waste but also sets a new standard for postal and government services in the region.
