The “Postal Leaders Forum” hosted by Baku has started its activity today
Starting today, for three days, Baku is hosting the “Postal Leaders Forum” organized by the Universal Postal Union, with the support of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport and “Azerpost” operating within the Azerbaijan Transport and Communication Holding (AZCON).
The first day of the “Postal Leaders Forum”, covering the Europe and CIS region, was dedicated to topics such as “The Future of E-Commerce in the Postal Industry”, “Promoting Innovation in Cross-Border E-Commerce”, and “The Future of Mail and Parcels in a Technology-Based Ecosystem”.
Mr. Marjan Oswald, Deputy Director General of the International Bureau of the Universal Postal Union, while answering the media's questions, voiced the following thoughts: "I would like to thank Azerbaijan very much for being here and I am grateful. You are really organizing a great event. "Azerpost" is doing a good job. "Azerpost" has been awarded several certificates in recent years. I would like to emphasize that without state support, the active activity of the post offices is impossible, because letter mail is almost not used. At the same time, great opportunities have been created for operators in the e-commerce service. But e-commerce is not only about delivery, it is also an export activity that is becoming an activity that adds value to the country's gross domestic product." Speaking at the event, Isi Mustafayev, Acting Chairman of the Board of Directors of "Azerpost" LLC, said that about 180 representatives from more than 30 countries are participating in the forum. "The participants of this forum are the heads of postal organizations of Europe and the CIS countries, leading representatives of e-commerce and the academic environment. This is the second time that Baku is hosting a regional postal event. As "Azerpost", our goal in supporting this event is to contribute to the development of the postal and e-commerce sectors and the expansion of cooperation, and ultimately strengthen the position of the national postal operator at the international level."
