A postage stamp dedicated to the "1st Forum of Postal Leaders of Europe and the CIS" has been issued
Today, the "1st Forum of Postal Leaders of Europe and the CIS" has kicked off in Baku. The forum is jointly organized by the Universal Postal Union (UPU), the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, and “Azərpoçt” LLC, which operates under the Azerbaijan Transport and Communications Holding (AZCON). The event will run for three days, from May 13 to 15.
Dedicated to the theme "Next Horizons: Navigating E-commerce, Innovation, and the Supply Chain for Future Excellence", the forum will serve as a strategic platform for regional dialogue and comparisons, knowledge exchange, and innovation. Discussions will focus on transforming the postal sector in response to global trends and digital disruptions.
Recognizing the forum’s role in advancing the next phase of postal development and its regional importance, the organizers decided to issue a commemorative postage stamp for the event.
All illustrations featured on the commemorative postage stamp are presented against a background of elements representing the city of Baku. This visually highlights the city’s role as the host of a milestone event in postal history. At the center of the stamp is a uniquely styled depiction of the Flame Towers, symbolizing both Azerbaijan’s identity as the Land of Fire and the venue of the forum. Surrounding the towers are key components of the supply chain—sorting centers, cargo trucks, digital devices for online order fulfillment, etc.—representing the core content of the forum.
Digital symbols, flowing arrows, and labeled routes emphasize the connectivity, infrastructure, and speed between e-commerce and digital solutions. The “Baku Eye” Ferris wheel in the background represents the ever-rotating nature of this futuristic theme.
The stamp reflects Azerbaijan’s aspiration to become a regional hub for digital trade and smart logistics, combining its national postal identity with global modernity.
The stamps were printed in a limited edition of 4,000 copies by Bpost Stamps Production in Belgium.
