Postage stamps dedicated to the 3rd anniversary of the April war, presented
The subordinate body of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Azermarka LLC on April 3, held an event dedicated presentation of postal stamps and First Day covers entitled “April battles - 2016. Lalatapa".
At the event, 100 its of First Day covers were sealed with commemorative stamp and commissioned into circulation.
The stamps which released at the initiative of the Ministry and with the participation of Sevinj Orujova, head of the "Zafar" Public Union, are dedicated to the third anniversary of the battles on the line of contact between the Azerbaijani and Armenian armed forces in the occupied Nagorno-Karabakh on April 1-5, 2016.
Key aim of the releasing these stamps is to immortalize the memory of officers and soldiers who died for the Motherland by demonstrating high courage in the April battles, which is one of the successful operations of the Azerbaijani army in the occupied territories, and to pass on their heroism to future generations. The stamps depict the Lalatapa Heights, the most important success of the April battles, and the Azerbaijani flag on the Heights on the background of graphically military camouflage.
The artist of the stamps, made in the form of a small sheet consisting of eight stamps, is Nariman Mammadzade. The stamps were printed in Bobruisk, Belarus, at the Nepogodin printing house with a circulation of 24,000. The size of one stamp is 40 × 28 mm, the size of the sheet is 98×130 mm.
