Postage stamp issued to mark the Year of Volunteers
At the initiative of the Regional Development Public Union, Azermarka LLC, which operates under the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, has issued a postage stamp to mark the Year of Volunteers designated for 2020.
The purpose is to contribute to the Year of Volunteers declared in our country by the relevant order of Mr. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The postage stamp depicts the silhouettes of three people holding hands against the background of a clear blue sky, which symbolizes people’s unity, solidarity and mutual aid. The spaces between the human figures form the silhouette of a dove, which has long been recognized universally as a symbol of peace, care and goodwill.
The postage stamp was designed by artist Vugar Ayyubov and printed in a run of 7,000.
