Thanks to the collaboration between "Azerpost" LLC and "Slovak Post," a joint postage stamp between Azerbaijan and Slovakia has been issued.

The event, commemorating 30 years of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Slovakia, was attended by Milan Layčák, the Ambassador of Slovakia to Azerbaijan, Vusal Abdullayev, the newly appointed Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Slovakia, and Sitara Huseynova, the Director of the Stamp Department at "Azerpost" LLC.

It was noted that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Slovakia. In 2020, the Slovak Embassy in Azerbaijan proposed the issuance of a postage stamp to celebrate this occasion. The stamp features the terchovka, a traditional Slovak musical instrument, and the Azerbaijani kamancha, both of which are included in UNESCO's list of intangible cultural heritage.

The unveiling of the joint postage stamp is not coincidental. Terchovka music and instruments were added to UNESCO's cultural heritage list in 2013, while the Azerbaijani kamancha received this recognition in December 2017.

At the end of the presentation ceremony, participants presented the postage stamp, and the first envelopes were signed. The stamp, with a print run of 4,000, was produced at the "Bobruisk Integrated Printing House" in Belarus, designed by Marcel Benčík.
